Little Mexico Campground DOG Oct. 2013
We would like to thank Steve and everyone at the Little Mexico Campground, for all the hospitality we received this weekend. We had a DOG and demo day for the campground and had a great time. It couldn't have turned out to be a nicer day than it was. Temps were in the 60's and sunny skies above. We met a whole bunch of new people and shared our love of Dutch ovens with them. Oh yeah, we even cooked some food for them. It must have been edible, because there wasn't much left when it was time to clean up. We are in the works with Steve and the gang to come back again next season. Here are the dishes served, and some pictures of the event setup. - Bacon Egg and Cheese Muffins - Biscuits - Beer Bread - Mexican Chicken with Rice - Tatertot Casserole - Jalapeno Cheese Hushpuppies - Tamale Pie - Venison Kielbasa - Roasted Butternut Squash - Blueberry Pull-a-Parts |
Stoltzfus Farm DOG June 2013
We were back down in Bird-in-Hand, PA at the family farm of Reuben Stoltzfus. He was nice enough to invite us down to his home so he could see what it is we do, and how we do it. It started out with a threat of rain, but turned out to be a beautiful day, Everyone had a great time and learned a few things as well, as we cooked for 32 people total. Special thanks to Reuben and his family for being such gracious hosts, we hope we can get together again some day.
The food we made was all in preparation for the upcoming antique buggy auction. We are cooking the benefit dinner the night before. The meal will consist of... - Roasted Chicken - Dutch Oven Potatoes - Baked Corn - Cowboy Beans - Dutch Oven Biscuits - Several Varieties of Dump Cakes Here are some pictures of the event. |

If you got there early enough in the morning, you were treated to French Toast Casserole, and Cinnamon Rolls. The dish selection presented for dinner was also very tasty, and included...
