Buttery Honey Beer Bread

3 cups flour (sifted)
3 tsp baking powder (omit if using Self-Rising Flour)
1 tsp salt (omit if using Self-Rising Flour)
1/4 cup sugar
1 - 12 oz bottle of dark beer (I used a honey brown lager)
1/4 cup melted butter
3 tbsp honey
In a bowl, mix dry ingredients, honey and beer.
Pour into center of a greased 10 inch Dutch oven.
Pour melted butter over mixture.
Using 7 coals under, and 16 on top, bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour, or until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.
Remove from pan and cool for at least 15 minutes.
NOTE: This recipe makes a very hearty bread with a crunchy, buttery crust. If you prefer a softer crust (like a traditional bread) mix the butter into the batter instead of pouring it over the top.
